TVAH Title IX and IV Non-Discrimination Notice
Hallsville Independent School District and Career and Technical Education do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex or disability in providing education or providing access to benefits of education services, activities, and programs, including vocational programs, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended; and Title II o the Americans with Disabilities Act. Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville Title IX Policy:
In accordance with Title IX, Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville does not and is required not to discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in its educational programs or activities. The requirement not to discriminate extends to employment. Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the district’s Title IX Coordinator (see below), to the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, or both.
In compliance with the requirements of Title IX, 34 C.F.R. § 106.45 (b)(10), Hallsville ISD has provided required training to all Title IX personnel including the District’s Title IX Coordinator Andrea Walker, Student Resource Coordinator at 521 S Loop 288 Ste 125, Denton, TX 76205 / 972.420.1404 on August 11, 2020.

Reports can be made at any time and by any person, including during non-business hours, by mail, phone, or email. During district business hours, reports may also be made in person. Upon the district receiving notice or an allegation of sex-based harassment, the Title IX Coordinator will promptly respond in accordance with the process described at FFH(LOCAL).

Student Report
Any student who believes that he or she has experienced prohibited conduct or believes that another student has experienced prohibited conduct should immediately report the alleged acts to a teacher, school counselor, principal, other District employee, or the appropriate District official listed in this policy.
If appropriate and regardless of whether a criminal or regulatory investigation regarding the alleged conduct is pending, the District shall promptly take interim action calculated to address prohibited conduct or bullying prior to the completion of the District’s investigation.
The Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville is interested in achieving and fostering student/family satisfaction. The following procedure ensures that student/family grievances are addressed fairly by the appropriate people promptly. TVAH prohibits discrimination against students/families by disability, race, creed, color, gender, national origin, or religion. In most cases, student or parent complaints or concerns can be addressed informally by a phone call or a conference with the teacher or principal. For those complaints and concerns that cannot be resolved informally, the board has adopted a Student and Parent Complaints/Grievances policy at FNG(LOCAL).
