Friendsgiving & Waves of Encouragement at TVAH

Stories & Spotlights

In November, TVAH students and staff came together to celebrate gratitude, connection, and kindness through two community-building activities: Friendsgiving in the Zone and a schoolwide Positive Peer Messages project.

Inside the Zone, students gathered for a virtual Friendsgiving where they shared favorite holiday traditions, swapped recipes, and reflected on what they were thankful for this year. It was a simple but meaningful space for students to relax, connect, and enjoy the season together.

Alongside the event, students participated in “Waves of Encouragement,” a Padlet where students wrote uplifting notes to one another, highlighting peers’ strengths, cheering each other on, and spreading positivity across grade levels. Messages ranged from kind words about classmates to encouragement for students preparing for finals or personal goals.

Together, these activities helped reinforce one of TVAH’s biggest values: community. Even in a virtual setting, students continue to show up for one another with empathy, kindness, and gratitude.
