Hello! My name is Elyssa, a high school senior at TVAH. As I prepare for graduation and the next chapter in my life, I thought it would be fun to show you a glimpse of my daily routine. In this blog, I’ll take you through a typical day in my life, from my morning routine to after-school activities and everything in between. I hope to give you an idea of what it’s like to be a high school senior navigating my final year, filled with both excitement and a bit of stress. Join me as I share the realities of my day-to-day life!
Morning Routine
7:30 am
- I start my morning by making my bed, which helps me feel prepared to take on the day from being tempted to go back to bed. After that, I read my Bible, which allows me to reflect on its message and set a positive tone for the day. Once done, I head to the bathroom and get started on brushing my teeth and doing my skincare.
- For online school, I focus on creating a productive vibe. I choose a comfy outfit that makes me feel put together, then set up my workspace to keep me distraction-free. I make sure my laptop and iPad are charged to start my school day ready!
School
9:30 am
- When I log in, the first thing I do is check all my class announcements for any updates. I also review my checklist to see if there are any assignments, TGAs, or quizzes due for the day. Once I’ve gotten everything in order, I join my first class.
- In class, I focus on getting the most out of it. I make sure to take clear notes on what the teacher says about the lesson. Participating in class helps me stay connected to the material and invested in the learning process.
Lunch Break
12:45 pm
- For a quick lunch break, I opt for a ham and cheese sandwich with apples and chips on the side.
- During my break, I like to read my Kindle. This helps my brain rest on all the school work and focus on a good book. After that, I usually spend time with my dog, whether we’re lounging together or going for a short walk.
Afternoon Activities
3:30pm
- After my last class, I wrapped up any assignments I needed to complete. Then, I focus on studying for my upcoming test, reviewing notes, and going over key concepts. This helps me understand the material better for when I take the test.
- One challenge I face while studying is staying awake, especially after an early start to the day. By the time I sit down to review my notes, I often feel really tired and find myself struggling to concentrate. The temptation to take a quick nap is strong, and it takes a lot of effort to push through the tiredness. I try to keep moving or take short breaks, but it’s still tough to stay alert when all I want to do is close my eyes for a bit.
Evening
4:45pm
- In the evening, once I’m done with school, I like to unwind by watching a movie. After that, I enjoy hanging out with my family, sharing stories about our day, and catching up on what everyone has been up to. It’s a nice way to relax and connect before winding down for the night
- For dinner, sometimes my family and I like to go out and get some birria tacos.
Reflecting on my day, I feel grateful for the structure and routine that helps me stay focused and productive. Starting my morning with small tasks like making my bed and reading the Bible sets a positive tone, while online school keeps me engaged and connected. Quick lunch breaks allow me to recharge with reading and quality time with my dog. Even though studying can be a bit challenging when I’m tired, I push through and sit prepared for my tests. Evenings spent with family are the perfect way to unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner. Overall, each part of my day plays a role in keeping me balanced and fulfilled.
In closing, this daily routine highlights the importance of structure and balance in my life. From my mindful mornings to productive school sessions and relaxing evenings with family, each moment contributes to my overall well-being. Sharing these experiences reminds me of the small joys that make each day special, and I hope it inspires others to find their routine.
Thank you for joining me on this journey through a typical day! Bye!
